Internship Program

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this program is temporarily postponed until further notice.



Students of the Water Supply Technology Program at San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) have a unique opportunity available to them through CVWD's partnership with the college. For students that meet the required qualifications, internships are available in a variety of fields including: water and wastewater utility maintenance, field service (meter reading),  treatment, and engineering.


Participant Requirements
Students who are interested in participating in the Internship Program must:
  • Be currently enrolled in the SBVC Water Supply Technology Program
  • Have  successfully completed the Water Treatment I (WST071) and Water Distribution I (WST061)
  • Complete an online internship program application
  • Provide a copy of SBVC unofficial transcripts
  • Enroll in the one-unit Work Experience course (WST098-01) or the two-unit Work Experience course (WST098-02)
  • Be able to complete 60 or 120 hours to satisfy the requirements of the Work Experience course
  • Maintain a grade of "C" or higher in each course to remain eligible to participate
  • Have a current California Driver's License and submit to a DMV records check
  • Submit to a drug screening test and criminal background check
