Go Green Night Raises over than $27,000 for

Environmental Education

Rancho Cucamonga, CA (NOVEMBER 2, 2009) – The Frontier Project Foundation and the Ontario Reign Hockey Club hosted the second annual Go Green Night Saturday night. During the event attendees experienced the Frontier Project Eco-Village where environmental organizations from around the region educated game attendees about the environment and what they could do to become environmental stewards.

The top winners of the Frontier Project’s annual “Think Green Essay Contest” were recognized at the game. Kolby Ratigan a 5th grade students from Rancho Cucamonga earned the privilege of dropping the opening game puck and rode the Zamboni that night.

About 90 students from across San Bernardino, Riverside, and Los Angeles Counties submitted short essays describing what they are doing in their home, school, or community to be more kind to the environment.

After Saturday’s game, the Ontario Reign held a live auction of the custom-designed green jerseys the hockey team wore during the game. The auction raised more than $27,000, which will support the Frontier Project Foundation’s educational programming.

The Frontier Project is a non-profit foundation, which operates a new sustainable demonstration resource center in Rancho Cucamonga. The facility is available for the community to learn about sustainable technologies, systems, and products, and serves asa gathering place for green-minded companies, organizations, and individuals.
