Fifth Grade Poster Contest

Each year, the CVWD sponsors the Fifth Grade Poster Contest. This year, CVWD is celebrating 30 years of this program! The theme, Water is Life, provides young artists a chance to illustrate the importance of water in our community.

2019 Fifth Grade Poster Contest Awards Ceremony

The Cucamonga Valley Water District (CVWD) celebrated seventy-two local fifth grade students at the 30th anniversary Fifth Grade Poster Contest Awards Ceremony on May 13, 2019.

CVWD recognized each artist for their dedication to learning about water. Joseph Trejo from Floyd M. Stork Elementary School was honored as the 2019 Poster Contest Sweepstakes Winner for his poster which demonstrated the importance of using water wisely. When asked what inspired his poster, Joseph stated, “It is important to conserve water to protect our Earth so it can flourish.”

First place artwork will be submitted to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's regional poster contest for consideration and a possible spot in their 2020 Water is Life calendar.

We would like to congratulate all student artists and our 2019 5th Grade Poster Contest Sweepstakes Winner,  Joseph Trejo and teacher, Mr. MacKenzie, from Floyd M. Stork Elementary School!
